Formerly a fort with an arms store, barracks and a hospital for the British army, Fort Canning Arts Centre, in present times, houses Singapore Pinacothèque de Paris museum (closed on April 2016), art academy, shops and restaurants. The building was recently restored according to the URA guidelines for heritage structures. For the façade, light fixtures accent its colonial style, drawing one's eyes to the columns and latticework balusters. For the interior, a concept by Brewin called "The Line" connects different anchor points in the building, acting as a navigator for the visitors while becoming a piece of architecture in itself.
