Universal Studios Singapore was the second Universal Studios theme park to open in Asia, which officially opened in 2011. The park has several themed zones, each with a different lighting ambiance and a variety of flagship stores and restaurants.
Hollywood (themed zone) is the main entrance area of Universal Studios Singapore. It follows the theme of Hollywood Boulevard and features a replica of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The lighting ambiance is lively and welcoming. New York (themed zone) follows the theme of the post-modern New York City and has an urban and romantic ambiance. To match the style of the building façades, fixtures with urban designs are used. Instead of lighting the façades strongly, soft floodlighting is used for the wall-washing. For both themed zones, light boxes at the windows emit cozy, warm light for the façades. Narrow beam projectors highlight the structure of the canopies. Light poles for the streets are fitted with dimmable compact fluorescents.
